Doulas provide continuous emotional, physical and informational support before, during and after birth. The doulas on Welvow are independently reviewed and work with people across pregnancy, labour and the postnatal period, alongside (not replacing) midwifery and medical care.
Welvow is a wellness companion, not a medical service. If anything you're experiencing is concerning you, please speak with your GP.
Sometimes a different practitioner ends up being the right fit, or a combination of approaches gets you further. The Welvow quiz takes 3 minutes and suggests what might genuinely help, based on what you're hoping to support.
What doula actually involves, and how people use it.
A doula provides continuous emotional, physical and informational support before, during and after birth. They do not give clinical care, but work alongside your midwifery and medical team so you feel supported and informed.
A birth doula supports you through pregnancy and labour. A postnatal doula supports the weeks after birth, with the practical and emotional adjustment at home. Some doulas offer both.
Fees vary by location, experience and the package (birth, postnatal or both). Many doulas on Welvow list their pricing on their profile.
There is no statutory regulation, so meet a few and look for recognised training and a network such as Doula UK. Every doula on Welvow is independently reviewed, with their experience on their profile.
