Find an acupuncturist in the UK

Acupuncture is one of the oldest continuously practised systems of medicine in the world. Welvow lists independently reviewed acupuncturists across the UK, practitioners who use Traditional Chinese Medicine, Five Element, Japanese and Western approaches. Many work with hormone balance, fertility, sleep, stress, digestive issues and chronic pain.

Welvow is a wellness companion, not a medical service. If anything you're experiencing is concerning you, please speak with your GP.

Common questions

Acupuncture questions, answered

What happens during an acupuncture session?

A first session usually begins with a detailed conversation about your health, sleep, energy and what you would like to support. The practitioner then inserts very fine, single-use needles at specific points and you rest for around 20 to 40 minutes. Most people find it deeply relaxing. Sessions typically last 45 to 75 minutes.

How many acupuncture sessions might I need?

It varies with what you are exploring and how long it has been present. Many practitioners suggest a short initial course of four to six weekly sessions, then review together how you are responding. Some people choose to continue with occasional maintenance visits.

How much does acupuncture cost in the UK?

Fees vary by location and experience, and first sessions are often a little higher than follow-ups. Many acupuncturists on Welvow list their pricing on their profile, so you can see what to expect before getting in touch.

How do I choose a qualified acupuncturist?

Look for membership of a recognised body such as the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC), which sets standards for training and hygiene. Every acupuncturist listed on Welvow is independently reviewed, and you can read their background and approach on their profile.
