What manual lymphatic drainage actually involves, and how people use it.
MLD is a very gentle, rhythmic form of massage that encourages the natural flow of lymph. People explore it for fluid retention, post-surgical recovery and general wellbeing.
After a consultation, you rest while the therapist uses light, repetitive strokes in specific directions. It is slower and gentler than most massage. Sessions usually last 45 to 90 minutes.
It is not advised with some health conditions, so a qualified therapist will check first. If you have had surgery or a medical condition, mention it when you get in touch, and check with your GP if unsure.
Look for recognised MLD training (such as the Vodder or Leduc methods) and membership of a body such as MLD UK. Every therapist on Welvow is independently reviewed.
